Active Ageing Index (AAI)
The Active Ageing Index (AAI) is a tool to measure the untapped potential of older people for active and healthy ageing across countries. It measures the level to which older people live independent lives, participate in paid employment and social activities as well as their capacity to actively age. The index is constructed from 22 individual indicators that are grouped into four distinct domains. Each domain presents a different aspect of measuring the untapped potential of older people for active and healthy ageing. The results of the AAI are presented in a country ranking by the overall AAI and the domain-specific indices. The ranking of countries might change depending on what are the results for the overall AAI or the domain-specific indices. The AAI also offers breakdown of results by gender.

Age of Creativity
Age of Creativity is a UK-based online platform which aims to share, celebrate and inspire work in the field of arts and older people. It aims to foster collaboration and discussion between practitioners, facilitators, artists and organisations through showcasing pioneering work and providing a shared space to exchange ideas, opportunities and resources. The 'Resources' section of the website provides links to relevant websites and documents to download. Sections include: Academic Papers, Reports & Policy, Tools, International and Project Evaluations. Age of Creativity is now curated by Miranda Laurence from Age UK Oxfordshire. European Social Survey
PDF Print E-mail The European Social Survey (the ESS) is an academically-driven social survey designed to chart and explain the interaction between Europe's changing institutions and the attitudes, beliefs and behaviour patterns of its diverse populations. The ESS was established in 2001.Currently in the midst of its sixth round, this biennial cross-sectional survey covers more than thirty nations and employs the most rigorous methodologies. Attached to this page are 3 booklets. The ESS information brochure outlines the origins and development of the project. In addition two collections of findings are available: one summarises key findings from the first three rounds of the survey; the most recent contains findings from rounds 1-5. The ESS has received funding from the EC's Framework programmes, from the European Science Foundation, and from national funding councils in participating countries. In January 2013 the ESS applied for selection as a European Research Infrastructure Consortium (ERIC). The project is directed by a Core Scientific Team led by Rory Fitzgerald from the Centre for Comparative Social Surveys at City University London, UK. The six other institutions represented are: NSD, Norway GESIS, Germany The Netherlands Institute for Social Research/SCP, Netherlands Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Spain University of Leuven, Belgium University of Ljubljana, Slovenia

National Database of Ageing Research
Developed by the Centre for Policy on Ageing, the database covers a wide range of topics including workplace conditions, pensions, social care, carers and caring, retirement, dementia, health care, quality of life, and residential care.The database contents are drawn from research projects, both internally and externally funded, being carried out within a range of settings - academic sector voluntary and independent sector local and central government independent ‘think tanks’ The database is fully structured and searchable and covers all aspects of the research including - the researching organisation; title of the research; aims; a summary of findings; subject keywords; research methods used; researchers and other staff involved; funding type and funding body; budget; start/end dates and duration; research outputs including publications and whether the results and data from the research are publicly available

UK Central Web Resource on Ageing
A central web resource, to be hosted by Age Action Alliance, that will act as a portal to the knowledge around ageing well held across different sites and organisations in the UK. The portal is designed to ensure that it will be easily searchable for practitioners, policy makers, organisations and the public. Launched December 2012; going live soon .
